Last Week To See ‘INTRODUCING…’

FINAL WEEK Introducing

2016’s ‘INTRODUCING…’ at Stanley Street Gallery is drawing to a close. This coming week will be the last week you will be able to see the four new works I created for this very special exhibition. Featuring three other incredible, early career artists, it would be a shame for you to miss it if you’re in Sydney next week.

Last Push Introducing

I have one work left available for sale – ‘Don’t Ask, William Tell’ ($750AUD). If you would like further info or would like to purchase William, please contact Stanley Street Gallery.

Room 13

12239745_940247229345828_4746544217819785783_n

Room 13 , through the NSW Fresh AIR initiative, is supported by the Federal Government through the Australia Council for the Arts in partnership with the NSW Government through Arts NSW and the NSW Department of Education and Communities.

The aim of the Artist in Residence program is to improve children and young people’s access to quality school-based arts education by supporting professional artists in residence in public schools. It encourages longer term engagement between artists and public schools with residencies of a minimum of one month.

Over the past couple of days I have been helping hang the exhibition and the work is stunning. Congratulations to Howard and the Shopfront team on all their hard work.

Cubby House

Join Tom for some Landscape painting classes (think Bob Ross) down at Cubby House’s inaugural event (Sunday the 18th of October).

Image: Samantha Hawker

From the Cubby House site:

“Rather than a wasted day of woe, Sundays are meant for nourishment. For homecooked meals, meaningful chats and creative beverages. We’re here to help. Concrete Playground and Secret Garden — keen weekenders and lovers of good food, new friends and general tomfoolery — have teamed up to create the ultimate Sunday fortress of fun: Cubby House.

Located at the stunning Strickland House, Cubby House is a temporary hidden haven created purely for you to reclaim the weekend and stand you in good stead for the week to come. Give up the password and crawl into a secret hideaway of local food and drink, lawn games and seriously great talks to ditch the Sunday blues and make the most of your weekend. We’ll even help you send that postcard to your grandma.

Find a spot on the lawn to catch performances, news wrap-ups and comedy handpicked by The Guardian, eat a hearty Sunday roast from Newtowners Raven’s Eye, play your favourite lawn games, find comfort in a Bloody Mary by the Golden Age Cinema guys, pop into a workshop or two and learn a few mad skills, then we’ll even help you sort out your errands in time for Monday.”

Tickets and more info here.

Edit 2/11/15: Check out some of the images from the day here.
